Chafing dishes

What can you serve in a dish with a warmer? How does this type of dish work?

An ovenproof dish with a warmer is exceptionally practical. You can serve almost anything directly at the table, without transferring the food to a platter, for example roasted vegetables, goulash, meat, fish, casseroles, pâtés, lasagne and more.

A dish with a warmer is not only practical but also has an attractive design and makes a lovely table decoration.

A warmer dish consists of a food container and a stand made of stainless steel, which has spaces for tealight candles. The candles placed under the dish keep the food warm for as long as possible. Of course, professional kitchens also use warmers with more advanced functions – see below.

What are warmers for dishes with candles – and what is the most popular type?

You can buy a dish with a warmer made from various materials. The most popular are:

- glass dish with a warmer;

- ceramic dish with a warmer, made of so-called stoneware;

- metal dishes with a warmer;

- mixed dishes – made from several materials.

Dishes with a warmer can also have different styles, be more everyday or elegant, for more special occasions. The ovenproof dishes themselves can come in various shapes: rectangular, oval, round, or a tureen suitable for serving hot soup.

How do you use a food warmer? Types of warmers

Food warmers allow you to heat dishes and keep them at the right temperature at all times. This has a positive effect on the taste of meals, their qualities and the satisfaction of guests enjoying the dish. Using them is therefore very simple. The food to be served is placed in the dish, and the dish itself is set on a dedicated stand. Underneath the dish there is a space for candles, usually two or three, depending on the size of the dish. Glass dishes with a warmer and porcelain dishes with a warmer, with candles, are the most popular, but others are also available, for example those designed for catering and restaurants.

Induction warmers for catering – how do they work?

An induction food warmer is very ergonomic and easy to use. The appliance is functional and, above all, safe. An induction warmer concentrates all the heat on the heating plate, which reduces the risk of burns or fire. Heat distribution in an induction warmer significantly reduces energy loss. This solution is widely used in catering.

The warmer is powered by liquid fuel, i.e. paste or gel. This is particularly suitable for dishes served in enclosed rooms without draughts. Special fuel canisters are placed directly under the dish. The substances are odourless and do not affect the taste of the food.

Which dishes with a warmer can you find in the Mondex range?

We especially recommend the Allesken dish with a warmer from the MODERN KITCHEN series. The dish is made of stoneware. Thanks to the warmers, served dishes stay warm for a long time. The dish has a glass lid with a ceramic handle. The stable stand, made of chrome-plated steel, allows you to serve hot food. The stand has space for tea-light candles.

The dishes are available in various colour combinations and sizes. The following sizes from the Allesken Modern Kitchen series are available:

- Dish with a warmer 1.4 L 36x25x15 cm

- Dish with a warmer 2.1 L 41.5x25.6x15 cm

- Dish with a warmer 1.6 L 33.2x22xh6.6 cm;

- Dish with a warmer 2.6 L 34x25xh17 cm.

Available colours include white, black, navy and green for the stoneware ceramic. The stand and accessories (such as the lid handle) may be gold, silver or black.

A benefit of ovenproof dishes is that they can be used in both the oven and the microwave. They are also dishwasher safe, and the practical handles make them easy to carry wherever you need them.
